AVOOVA has opened its fourth store in South Africa at the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town. Located on the first floor, adjacent to Woolworths and Myatt Café & Chocolatier, the new shop brings the beauty of the Karoo to a wider local and international clientele.

Open from 9.00am to 9.00pm daily, 7 days a week throughout the year, the AVOOVA store offers shoppers a sophisticated South African spin on luxury gifts.

AVOOVA was recently commissioned by Terence Disdale Design to create 5 bespoke ostrich eggshell tables for the world’s largest private motor yacht, Eclipse, on behalf of its owner, Roman Abramovich.

The private yacht measures 170 metres in length and was built in Germany at an estimated cost of US$350 million.

Round and Oval belt buckles, inlaid with ostrich eggshell in a variety of eye-catching designs and colours, have recently been added to the range of AVOOVA accessories. The nickel-plated, interchangeable buckles can be purchased with either cowhide or ostrich leather belts – also available in a range of colours and sizes.

In November 2010, the doors of the new AVOOVA store opened for business in the heart of Franschhoek. Open 7 days a week and decorated in rich bitter chocolate tones, with a hint of mint, the new shop is a stylish addition offering the full accessories range and a select assortment of one off and interiors pieces.

AVOOVA’s flagship shop in the centre of Cape Town has expanded adding a further 100 square metres of space, allowing the company to display a wider range of bespoke and signature pieces AVOOVA designed by Gideon Engelbrecht.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Following in the footsteps of the highly successful launch of the Menyezela aluminium and silver collection of bowls and ornaments comes a contrasting range of organic tableware that combines the earthy, dark brown wood and horn hues with soft warm ivory shell tones.

The new range of sustainable, organic AVOOVA products has just been launched featuring bowls and platters in Palmwood and Jacaranda, elegant dishes and salad servers in – and Zebu horn and various one-off ‘objets’ in African Mahogany.

Nandos, one of SA’s most loved brands, commissioned AVOOVA to create servery bars for their two newest flagship outlets in the UK – to show-case their South African heritage. The bars measuring 7 and 9 metres in length respectively set sail from Durban in early January and will soon be installed in their new homes.
