R20 000 raised for The Prince Albert Community Trust

AVOOVA began life in the small Karoo town of Prince Albert, where the company still has its factory, and employees 50 artisans to this day.

We’re passionate about the community that helped build our company, and we’ve started various upliftment initiatives to this end, most recently teaming up with The Prince Albert Community Trust (PACT).

PACT’s focus is to address the town’s fundamental profile of poverty and the effects on its many inhabitants. At the end of last year, we managed to raise R20000 through the sale of our book, Karoo Story, which will go towards the Trust, and will be spent on education.

Featuring spectacular imagery of the surrounding desert landscape by famed photographer Obie Oberholzer, and words by Lucia van der Post, the book tells the story of AVOOVA whilst celebrating the Karoo and its people.
