The egg is one of nature’s most striking forms, a simple pleasure to behold and a symbol of life and beauty. The Tankwa design is inspired by the mysterious ‘fairy’ circles to be found on the fringes of Southern African deserts like the Tankwa Karoo.
Each piece is a testament to the skill of our artisans, with unique variations in texture, shape, and pattern ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Beautifully handcrafted, never manufactured, each full-size AVOOVA decorative egg is really two eggs in one: an empty, unfertilised ostrich egg that we have capped and hand-decorated with a second layer of ostrich eggshell veneer.
